What's it like making cartoons for your job? Who gets to do the voices? Did you draw all the characters yourself? How long does it take to make an episode? At the festival's debut family event, kids and parents can ask Emmy Award-winning writer/director, author, illustrator, and mom, Jennifer Oxley, all their burning questions about making children's television. Attendees will be treated to an episode of Jennifer's hit show on PBS Kids, PEG + CAT, plus other short film highlights of her wildly creative career. Curated and moderated by Sara Berliner of North Fork Family.

JUST ADDED! Join us after the program for a special book signing with Jennifer Oxley. Peg + Cat books will be available for purchase, and Jennifer will personalize inscriptions to recipients. Book signing presented in partnership with Greenport's independent bookstore, Burton's Books.

Peg + Cat is an animated math-based series for children ages 3-5 years old. The show follows the adorable, spirited Peg and her sidekick Cat as they embark on adventures, solve problems together, and learn foundational math concepts and skills.  In each 12 minute episode, Peg and Cat face A REALLY BIG PROBLEM, a messy funny crisis they must somehow solve without totally freaking out!

Her latest film, THE MUSIC BOX, was acquired by The Museum of Modern Art for their permanent children’s film collection. Her work in children’s television includes directing and artistic credits. Jennifer won an Emmy award for her role as director on LITTLE BILL, and she created the look and animation style of THE WONDER PETS. Most recently she re-developed the look of CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG, returning to TV in 2019. And she teamed up with Billy Aronson to create the hit PBS Kids animated series PEG + CAT!
