Giovanni Borghese moved to the North Fork of Long Island when his family acquired Hargrave Vineyard, Long Island's founding vineyard. He graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Entrepreneurship in 2010 from Suffolk University in Boston, MA then eventually moved to NYC and worked in digital media sales for two years. Next, he ran a Castskills B&B for one year before an opportunity to help sail a yacht to Cuba arrived. This lead to eight months of sailing/working on four different yachts while exploring many islands in the Caribbean and ultimately sailing across the Atlantic Ocean. In the summer of 2014, shortly after the crossing, Giovanni returned to take the helm at Borghese Vineyard and continues the family business today. Giovanni has backpacked most of Europe and the Caribbean and hopes to continue to travel the world as the opportunity allows.
Cathy Boyle has been driving revenue in an evolving media landscape for 20+ years. Glued to radio as a kid, she started selling radio in her hometown of Detroit shortly after graduating from Boston College. Advancing her career with positions in Boston, Atlanta and Chicago, she transitioned to digital in the mid-90’s after getting RFP’s from relatively unknown companies (at the time) like Yahoo & Amazon. Disney moved her to NYC in ’99 where she went on to work for start-ups, established companies like AOL and eventually mobile. In 2016 she opted for a lifestyle change and moved from New York City to Southampton, NY full time. She is thrilled to be part of the core team championing the North Fork TV Festival, and sees it as an important annual event to celebrate the expansion of television in an age of rapidly increasing distribution channels.
After graduating NYU in film, Jon Brandeis learned the ropes working as a PA, soundman, DP, director, producer, editor, writer, showrunner and executive producer. This progression started with corporate clients, and expanded to universities, cable and broadcast networks, theatrically released independent films and projects for the web. Brandeis has led small teams in the field around the world as well as staffs of over 150 in offices in New York and LA. As a showrunner, he’s frequently developed, written, directed and edited the pilot for a series. Jon believes that the planning and execution of an idea is as critical to the success of a project as the idea itself. Clients include, AMC, PBS, Comedy Central, fX, Showtime, Bravo, ABC, Lifetime, VH1, MTV as well as numerous production companies, universities and corporations. More than anything else, what drives Jon toward excellence is his passion for creating or just being part of a community of skilled professionals, as both a leader and an employee.
Perri Dorset is the Vice President, Communications at Bonnier Corp, where she oversees corporate communications and public relations for the media company’s 30-plus brands. Perri has established herself as a highly respected and versatile communications strategist within print and digital media. She joined Bonnier from The Huffington Post, where she was Senior Executive Director, Global Communications. Prior to that, Perri oversaw communications for the launch of The Atlantic’s global business website, Quartz. Perri spent 12 years at Condé Nast as Executive Director, Corporate Communications. There she directed editorial and business communications for established brands including— The New Yorker, WWD, W, Gourmet, and GQ — and the launch of Portfolio.
Perri graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She lives in Tribeca and Southold with her husband and their daughter.
Yvonne is a poet, creative producer, business strategist and author of The Wheelhouse Café, a novel with a songscape. After playing a Triple Word Score role at the National SCRABBLE Association for several years, Yvonne launched her communications firm liebleinassociates LLC in 2003. A lifelong ombudsman for Greenport and the North Fork, she serves on the boards of the East End Tourism Alliance and Greenport Business Improvement District. Yvonne produces the annual poet / artist mashup Poetry at Poquatuck and is the founder of Wish Factory Inc., a non-profit that has been brightening the holiday season for local families in need since 1995.
Linda has been a successful retailer in Manhattan and now exclusively Greenport for the past 25 years. Her love of business and care for the communities in which she lives and works led her to activism socially and commercially.cShe is a board member of the Greenport Improvement District and Co-Chair of the annual Maritime Festival.
Jim O’Doherty is a TV comedy writer, producer and show creator. He grew up on Long Island where he started his career as a stand up comic at Governors comedy club in Levittown. Jim began his writing career as one of the driving forces behind the NBC show “Third Rock From the Sun”. His work on Third Rock” won him two Golden Globes, and three Emmy nominations. From there Jim went on to be a Co Ex producer on the Fox comedy “Grounded for Life”. Jim has written TV comedy for all of the Major Networks and was one of the creators of the “Tracy Morgan” show for NBC.
Brent Pelton fell in love with Greenport, and specifically Stirling Square, when he had dinner in the square during the summer of 2011. Several years later Brent had the opportunity to purchase the square and, after substantial renovations, has opened American Beech Restaurant & Hotel. With American Beech, Brent combines his passions for food, wine and hospitality while getting to enjoy the Greenport community, farms and waterways. When not working at American Beech, you can find Brent defending employee and plaintiffs’ rights at his Manhattan-based law firm or sailing his boat on Gardiner’s Bay.
Haleigh Raff is a Producer at NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" where she runs the celebrity/talent booking department. She books A-list celebrities, actors, athletes, politicians, comedians plus up & coming talent for on-air appearances.
Prior to this Haleigh was a Talent Executive and Producer at shows such as "Late Night with Conan O'Brien", CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight", "The Martha Stewart Show" and "The View". Haleigh is a graduate of Syracuse University and resides part time on the North Fork.
Executive Chef Noah Schwartz, a native Long Islander and New England Culinary Institute alum, began his culinary career in Sonoma, California. Since its opening in 2010, noah’s has received numerous accolades and Chef Noah has been lauded by Best Chefs America in both 2012 and 2013. Chef Noah is the inspiration behind a cuisine that places great emphasis on fresh, seasonal ingredients from the North Fork and East End of Long Island.
Andrea Spiegel is a 20+ year branding and marketing veteran who built her career on developing integrated brand solutions, building businesses and leading teams for many iconic travel, lifestyle, and challenger brands. Andrea is currently a Partner at VSA, the award-winning, design-driven creative agency, leading and growing their NY office. Previous roles include EVP of Account Management at Leo Burnett, head of Sales and Marketing at JetBlue and founding CMO of Virgin America, to name a few. Andrea currently resides in Greenwich CT and New Suffolk NY is thrilled to be a part of North Fork TV Festival.
Richard Vandenburgh, Co-Founder of The Greenport Brewing Company is also a local attorney with an extensive background in real estate development, business management and construction experience. Richard serves as President of the Greenport Business Improvement District and sits on the Board of Directors for the New York State Brewers Association, the Long Island Farm Bureau and the North Fork Promotion Council. Richard has developed numerous local contacts and is well known among local municipal government and business owners. Richard, is an active Boy Scout leader in his local troop, has two sons and resides with his wife of 25 years, Ann in her hometown of Southold, New York .
